Terms & Conditions

Please read the following terms carefully. Learning to drive needs commitment and dedication from both you and your instructor – if you don’t agree or understand any of the below then please speak to your instructor.

Lesson Fees

Prices will be quoted at the time of booking. We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Fees can be paid by cash or bank transfer (Sort Code: 777175, Account No: 33864060) and must be paid at the start of the lesson.

Special Offers/Block Booking

All special offers and block bookings are subject to Terms & Conditions. Block bookings must be paid in full at the start of your course of lessons. We cannot provide any refunds if you decide to leave Darren Linley Driver Training without a valid reason or proof. Not returning after a 6 month break is classed as leaving.

“Inclusive of tests” means the fee includes 1 theory test and 1 practical test. Please note this does not include the hire of the car for the test.

Intensive and Motorway Lessons

All semi-intensive and motorway lessons must be paid in full at the time of booking – please note that 4 weeks notice is usually required to book. To cancel any of these courses/lessons, 7 days notice must be given. All payments are non-refundable without 7 days notice.

Lesson Appointments

All appointments must be made direct with your instructor.

Please give as much notice as possible of dates and times that you are available. Please remember that your instructor may have another 20 to 30 pupils to teach in the same week.

Please allow up to 15 minutes from the start of your appointment for your instructor to arrive. If you don’t arrive within 15 minutes of the allocated time, the instructor has the right to leave and the lesson will be chargeable.

If you are unsure when your lesson is then please contact your instructor.

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 7pm. The same times cannot be guaranteed each week.

Weekend lessons, if conducted, will incur a premium rate.

Cancellations

You must give at least 48 hours notice if you would like to cancel or re-arrange your arranged lesson. If you fail to do so you will be charged the full amount for the lesson or lose hours if you have paid for a block booking.

If the slot can be filled with another student then no penalties will occur.

If payment for missed lessons isn’t received within 14 days, further proceedings will be presented which may lead to you receiving a CCJ.

All monies must be paid up to date prior to the driving test being taken, as your instructor reserves the right to refuse to take you to the test.

Pick Up & Finish Locations

You should agree with your instructor where your lessons will start and finish when you make a booking. If you request to finish your lesson at a different location your lesson may be shortened to allow the instructor additional travelling time to avoid being late for the next pupil.

Test Dates

All test dates and times must be booked by your instructor to enable us to manage the booking. You will be informed by your instructor if there are any changes regarding your test.

On the day of the test you will be collected 1 hour before the start of the test, which enables you to get prepared and arrive at the test centre in good time. The cost will be your usual fee for a 2 hour lesson.

If your test is cancelled by the DSA you must inform your instructor immediately.

Please ensure you bring the correct documents. Your driving license is essential – without it, you cannot take your driving test.

Speeding Tickets

You (the driver) are liable for any endorsements received on any lesson or test.

Damage to Vehicle

Your instructor will always try to maintain full control of the vehicle whilst you are learning, however if you cause damage to the vehicle by not listening to instructions and doing what has not been asked, you will be liable for any outstanding costs to bring the car back to its original condition.

Lesson and Tests

Your instructor reserves the right to refuse at any time the use of the car for any lesson or test if:

  • Your driving is considered below the standard required for the test, or is not considered that your ability will improve in time for the test; or
  • You appear unwell or seem to be affected by the use of drugs or alcohol or any other purpose or reason; or
  • Lesson or test or any other fees remain unpaid.
